Jimmy Hynum April 14, 1967 - October 29, 2020

Jimmy Ray Hynum, 53, passed away in Little Rock. He was born in Stuttgart and at three days old, became the adopted son of Emmett “Bud” Hynum, Jr. and Mary Campbell Hynum. While attending Stuttgart High School, music became his main focus and enjoyment. He received 1st chair in the school band, gained multiple All Region titles and during senior year, was awarded 1st band, 1st chair in the state competition.

After graduating from high school in 1985, he attended UCA in Conway, where he joined the UCA Wind Ensemble and UCA Bear Marching Band. In 1991, he graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education and began teaching at Stuttgart Middle School. Other teaching positions included schools in Gillett, Helena and fifteen years in Brinkley. He was currently music director at Palestine-Wheatley School. He was an active member of the Ark School Band and Orchestra Association.

Jimmy and Angela Senko were married June 18, 1994, in a nuptial Mass at Holy Rosary Catholic in Stuttgart. They became an inseparable couple and although they had no children of their own, God blessed them through their teaching careers with many “Hynum Babies”.
Jimmy was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, where he served as the Knights of Columbus financial secretary. Community associations included Lions Club, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and Monroe County Human Development Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Immediate survivors include his beloved wife, Angela Kay Hynum of Brinkley and a host of community family and friends.

Funeral services were November 4 at St Johns Catholic Church with interment in St. Benedict Cemetery in Subiaco by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.
