Joe Griffin

Joe W. Griffin passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026 at his home in Cotton Plant. He was born on January 8, 1951, in Shaw, Mississippi, to the late Woodrow and Ruth Thompson Griffin.
Joe was a man of many trades. He managed fish farms in Mississippi before moving to the Cotton Plant area in 1992 with his family to manage a farm for Tom Clifton until it was sold. Then he and his son farmed for themselves. He later worked for Chappell Farms and finally for criminal justice in Brinkley. Joe always had love for the land and animals. He took in every stray that showed up. He was a member of the Chico Baptist Church in Lake Village, Arkansas.
Joe is preceded in seated by his parents, Woodrow and Ruth Griffin; his daughter, Stephanie Griffin; his son, Chris Griffin; and two sisters, Mary Strother and Shirley Rippee. Survivors are his wife, Debbie Griffin; daughter, Amanda (Trey) Reed; grandchildren, Remington Rogers, Zack (Megan) Reed, Gracie (Zackary) Coulton, Lauren (Jacob) Kersey, Blair Reed, and Courtney Reed; and nine great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
Funeral was Saturday, March 7 at the Cotton Plant Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Mack Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Rusty Rippee,Scott Rippee, David Holloway, Dean Strother, Trey Rivett and Zack Reed. Arrangements were by Fowler Funeral Home of Brinkley.
