Billy Joe Houser

Billy Joe Houser passed away on June 15, 2025. B.J. was born at home on March 19, 1936, in the Shiloh Community in Monroe County. His parents were Parker Ewan Houser Jr. and Ollie Faye Dyer Houser. His sister, Beverly, died in 2009.
He grew up in the nearby community of Blackton. After graduating from Holly Grove High School, he received a BA degree from the University of Arkansas. He worked for the Social Security Administration in various offices in several locations around the county.
Barbara Bunn Houser, his wife of 47 years, who was also his best friend, died February 25, 2011.
Survivors are a daughter, Susan Lynn Fuller and her husband, Jim; a son, Parker Ewan Houser III and his wife, Diana; and three grandchildren, Ashley West, Clint Fuller, and William Robert Houser.
He requested that there be no funeral or memorial service.
