Earnest Edward “Eddie” Gilliam Jr.

Earnest Edward “Eddie” Gilliam Jr., age 71, of Turlock, Calif., formerly of Memphis, Tenn., passed away April 30, 2025. He was born August 1, 1953 in Brinkley to the late Earnest Gilliam Sr. and Willie Mae Gilliam.
Eddie led a life marked by service, compassion and generosity. He was among the first paramedics in the state of Arkansas, a role that reflected his lifelong dedication to helping others. He later earned his Master’s degree and became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), continuing his commitment to care and healing. Eddie was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and humble nature. He never hesitated to lend a hand to those in need, and he found joy in giving. To those who knew him, he was a quiet hero, someone who lived not for recognition, but to make a difference.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Will Gilliam. He is survived by a son, Trent Gilliam and wife, Amber; his cherished grandchildren, Jon, Ella and Everlee; and a sister, Debbie Gilliam Franklin and her husband, Terry.
The family received friends May 6 at the Memphis Funeral Home and the Memorial Service followed.
