Jimmie Lee Snowden

Jimmie Lee Snowden was born on March 31, 1937, in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas. She was one of four children to the family of  Arthur and Villa Dye Kennedy.  Jimmie graduated from Hickory Ridge High School in 1954, and enjoyed  being active as a member of the Lady Hornets Basketball team. 
Through the years Jimmie was dedicated to her family and took great pride in her role as a wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She made her home in Fisher, Arkansas before she became the wife of Dewey Snowden on March 9, 1983. They made their home in Brinkley where she shared her passion for sports, as they competed together in couples golf tournaments. Jimmie was also known for her love of softball and tennis. She had a talent for crocheting, creating beautiful Afghans for her family and friends and found joy in playing cards and board games
Jimmie’s walk of faith began in her childhood as she attended worship services with her family at the Hickory Ridge Methodist Church. She later became a member of the Brinkley First Baptist Church. As a woman of faith Jimmie’s unwavering belief guided her throughout her lifetime and served as a source of strength and comfort.  
On April 13, 2025, Jimmie passed away in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas at the age of 88. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Dewey Snowden,  and siblings Alvin Allen, Beverly German, and Rachel Beyer. 
She is survived by her loving sons Shane (Rhonda) Glenn, Alan (Beth) Glenn, daughters Kimmie Devillier, Tammy Fisher, step-daughter Ann (Ricky) Clifton, nine grandchildren, Samuel Kade Devillier, Kassie Lee Doherty, Britney Young, Skylar Myers, Shandie Koen, Landon, Ethan, Shantrey and Spencer Glenn, thirteen great-grandchildren, Colby Martin, Cale Doherty, Kasha Devillier, Meritt and Paxton Young, Brody Myers, Damian Price, Bella Koen, Anna, Talon, Evie, Gavin and Axel Glenn, three great-great-grandchildren Lakelynn Martin, Everleigh and Oakley Price. Graveside services were held on Wednesday at Oaklawn Cemetery by Bob Neal & Sons of Brinkley. Guestbook/obit/ bobnealandsons.com
