Jess M. Bline

Rev. Jess M. Bline, 68, of Bicknell, Ind., formerly of Brinkley, passed away March 9, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born November 9, 1956 in Seymour, Ind. He was a graduate of Victory Christian School. He answered the call to become a pastor and began his ministry in Bicknell, Ind. at the Church of God. He also pastored the Full Gospel Church of God in Brinkley for 20 years.
Jess and his family traveled for 15 years evangelizing in several states. His deep belief in the power of Jesus Christ led him on many mission trips in his life. He held membership in the Abundant Grace House of Power in Sullivan, Ind. He lived his faith by his actions for the salvation of others. Jess enjoyed hunting trips with his sons and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jess Granville Bline; his first wife, Caroline O’Dell Bline; his parents, Jerry and Alice Johnson Bline; and brother, Albert Lee Barrett. He is survived by his sons, Jerry Bline of Brinkley and Steve (Heather) Bline of Russellville; a granddaughter, Layne Bline of Russellville; his sisters, Louise (Fred) Harrison of Terre Haute, Ind., Ellen Clyatt of Vero Beach, Fla., Melissa Barrett of Knoxville, TN, and Tiffany Barrett of Rocky Top, TN; brother, Brian Barrett of Vero Beach, Fla.; and his father, Albert Barrett of Vera Beach, Fla.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 15 at the Bicknell First Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Fowler officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Brinkley next to his son, Jess Granville. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial services are being planned in Brinkley at a later date.
