Elgin Leo Gordon

Elgin Leo (Flush) Gordon of Searcy, formerly of Brinkley, passed away October 27, 2024, at the age of 86. He was born April 10, 1938. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He led a life characterized by hard work, love for family, and a deep commitment to his passions and interests.
Elgin proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps immediately after high school. After his military service, he built a successful career working for C.D.K. Contracting until his retirement. Beyond his family, he was an avid deer hunter, Razorback fan, and enjoyed beekeeping for many years. He had a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors. His passion for these pursuits further endeared him to those who knew him and provided countless memories for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joyce Thigpen Gordon. Together, they nurtured a loving family including their children, Chris Gordon (Kim), Joy Mattingly (Tony), and Lorrie Stevens (Larry); grandchildren, Nathan Mattingly (Megan), Tyler Stevens (Lindsey), Jessica Nicholson (Anthony), Corey Stevens (Angela), Paul Gordon (Misty), and Kelly Drye (Dalton); and his 13 precious great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
Memorial service was Friday, November 1 at Cole Funeral Home and Crematory in Kensett. Honorary pallbearers were Tony Mattingly, Larry Stevens, Nathan Mattingly, Tyler Stevens, Paul Gordon, Corey Stevens, Anthony Nicholson, and Dalton Drye.
