David Davenport
David “Wayne” Davenport, 69, passed away in North Little Rock, Arkansas on January 9th, 2024. He was born the first of six children on January 5th, 1955, in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late David Davenport and Frances Hawkins Davenport. He joined the Army in October of 1973 and served as a radio operator until he was discharged under honorable conditions in March of 1975. Wayne enjoyed spending countless hours outdoors. He would fish for anything that would bite the hook and would raise beautiful vegetable gardens that he shared with his family and friends. If possible, Wayne would be spending this time with his riding partners, who were his three beloved dogs. He loved his mother and the chances he had to help her anyway possible. From hair cuts to sharing meals, he was truly a mother’s boy. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Ashley Davenport of Perryville, Louisiana; brother, Rodney (Kaye) Davenport of Monroe; three sisters, Shirley (Sam) Davis of Hammond, Louisiana; Connie (Raymond) Pena of Fayetteville, and Pam (Danny) Myers of Sheridan, along with a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, David Davenport and brother, Stanley Davenport. His funeral service will be held at Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley at noon on Friday, January 12th. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at White Church Cemetery in Rich.
