Mary Frances Morris Spurlock Coffman

Mary Frances Morris Spurlock Coffman went to her heavenly home January 14, 2023. She was a resident of the Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle for a short period of time.

Frances was born in Earle, AR. on April 28, 1930 to Everett and Eunice Turner Morris. She grew up in the Dyer/Holly Grove community. Frances attended the Dyer School and graduated in 1947 from Holly Grove High School.

Frances met Laymon Glen Spurlock in the Lawrenceville Church after he returned home from the war. They married June 9, 1947, after her graduation.

Frances had a large family; six girls and one son. Her life consisted of hard work from early on. She was tough and never a minute to spare on herself. Frances was a member of the Believer’s Fellowship Church in Holly Grove, American Legion Auxiliary, MaMa’s and in her earlier years, the Home Demonstration Club.

Glen passed suddenly on November 22, 1992. She later met and married Donald Coffman February 28, 1997.

Survivors are her children: Teresa (Sam) Southerland of Conway, Glenda (Jimmy) Henson of Helena, Shirley (Alvin) Lindley of Clarendon, Stanley (Renee) Spurlock of Clarendon, Carolyn (Tommy) Miller of Holly Grove, Nell Lawrence of Brinkley, and Lisa (Jerold) Degunion of Clarendon, Grandchildren: Allen Southerland, Brian (Laura) Southerland, Grant Southerland, Darrell Henson, Michael Henson, Jason (Jackie) Lindley, Ashley (John) McCoy, Shaw (Rebecca) Spurlock, Reagan (Lacey) Miller, Madeline (Hunter) Herrington, Terri Wall, Patrick Wall, and Jacob Degunion, Siblings: Mildred Craig of Clarendon and Betty Owens of Lexa. Frances is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Frances was predeceased by husbands: Glen Spurlock and Donald Coffman; her parents: Everett Morris and Eunice Morris; her grandchildren: Ronald and Rebecca Lindley, and Derek Miller; great grandson: Matt Henson; siblings: Katherine Morris, David Richard Morris, Susie Morris, Georgia Cecil, Billy Joe Morris, and son-in-law: Steve Lawrence.

Services were on January 19, 2023 at Believer’s Fellowship Church in Holly Grove with burial at Macedonia Cemetery. Arrangements by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home.
