David Lorn Norman

David Lorn Norman was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on June 26m 1965 to Scotch L. Norman Jr. and Bernice Parker.

David was reared in a Christian home where his faith was instilled in him. He deemed Jesus as his Savior at an early age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Bald Knob, Arkansas. He later became a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church of Augusta, Arkansas, where he served on the Usher Board.

David received his formal education through the Augusta School district, and was a 1983 graduate of Augusta High School.

After High School, David enlisted in the United States National Guard where he served for several years until he was honorably discharged. He would later go on to complete welding courses at the Arkansas State University, Searcy Campus. He was employed at Sloan Valve Factory in Augusta, Arkansas for several years.

David was a man whom family and friends couldn’t help but love. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, cooking and bbq-ing, and watching cooking shows. He was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings football team, and the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team.

David’s soul was pardoned from earthly labor on December 10, 2022 at Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas. He was met in Heaven by his father, Scotch Norman Jr., brothers Michael Norman, Darwin Norman, and Scottie Norman, and his sister Jeneatha “Tiny” Lewis.

His memories will remain in the hearts of his beloved mother Bernice Redus of Augusta, AR; brother, Paul Parker of Jacksonville, AR; sister, Bridgett Lee of Augusta, AR; two sons, David Norman Jr. of Kensett, AR and Tedrick Turner of Dumas, AR; three daughters, Whitney Doby of Conway, AR, Torrie Doby of McCrory, AR, and Diya Norman of Marked Tree, Ar; twelve grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral took place on Sunday December 18, 2022 at St. Luke M.B. Church in Augusta, Arkansas at 3 pm. Burial will be at New Quiet Cemetery in Augusta, Arkansas by Branscumb-Johnson-Gilchrest Funeral Home. "The assurance of respect, and the commitment of service..." (870) 734-2772
