Desmond Torvay Ewing Sr.

Desmond Torvay Ewing Sr., 37 of Little Rock, formerly of Cotton Plant, passed away on Sunday morning, December 11 in Lonoke, Arkansas.

Desmond was born July 23, 1985 in Brinkley, Arkansas to Lonzella Ewing and L.C. Brown.

Desmond was raised in Cotton Plant and attended the Cotton Plant Public School System, where he played basketball and participated in other extra-curricular activities. He later relocated to Little Rock, where he attended the Little Rock Public Schools. He was a 2003 graduate of McClellan High School. He went on to further his education by attending Pulaski Tech College, where he received a certificate of completion for Diesel Mechanic.

Growing in in Cotton Plant, Desmond and his family attended Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church.

Desmond was employed with the Granite Mountain Quarries in Little Rock for more than 2 years. He was also the owner and operator of Ewing and Sons Mobile Detail in Little Rock.

Desmond was a proud member of the Sugar Town Riders Motorcycle Club North Little Rock Chapter, where he was known as “Flame.” He served as the club’s Sargent at Arms

His mother Lonzella Ewing, his maternal grandmother Erma Ewing, his paternal grandparents: Della Brown Word and Ollie Brown, his brother Johnny Ewing and his niece Aniyah Dilworth preceded Desmond in death.

Survivors are his life partner Cassie Floyd of Little Rock, AR; two sons: Davion Marshall of Kileen, TX; Desmond T. Ewing, Jr. of Little Rock, AR; three daughters: Sarah Russell of Jonesboro, AR; Khinyah Gaines of Little Rock, AR; Kameryn Ewing of Little Rock, AR; parents: L.C. (Clara) Brown of Cotton Plant, AR; brothers: Lester (Quinana) Ewing of Houston, TX; L.C. Harston of Searcy, AR; James (Jesse) Harston of Memphis, TN; Darrell Harston of Grand Prairie, TX; Sherman (Sheila) Harston of Dallas, TX; and Sheridan Harston of Dallas, TX; Emmanuel (Sheila) Harston of Mesquite, TX; sisters: Lavonzella Jackson of Little Rock, AR; Yolanda Kay Ewing of Little Rock, AR; Marilyn (ShaRon) Dilworth of Cotton Plant, AR; Ruby (Guillermo) Camarillo of Killeen, TX; and Stephanie (Allan) Brown of Augusta, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends

A visitation will be held on Saturday evening, December 17 from 5 until 7 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremation, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon, December 18 at 2 PM at the Brinkley Convention Center, 1501 Weatherby Drive in Brinkley. Interment will take place on Monday morning, December 19 at Haven Rest Cemetery, 7102 West 12th Street in Little Rock by C.J.
