October 26, 2022

Dorothy Jean Abram-Rounsville was born on March 27, 1937 in Hazen, Arkansas to John S. Abram and Hattie Webb-Abram.

Dorothy was reared in a Christian family and confessed her faith in Christ at an early age at Prairie Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend John L. Stidham.

Dorothy received her formal education through the Biscoe School System and was a 1956 graduate of Biscoe High School. Dorothy furthered her education through her studies at the Arkansas State Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, eventually graduating as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician Nurse (LPTN). Dorothy would fulfill her career as an LPTN until her retirement.

Dorothy possessed a spirit and personality that was loving and it drew people to her. She loved being classy and making sure she was presentable whenever and wherever she was. She took great pride in her faith and was a willing vessel in her church. Dorothy was musically inclined and enjoyed singing in the church choir, serving as the church pianist, serving as deaconess, and as the church secretary. One of Dorothy’s all-time favorite songs was “Didn’t it Rain Children…” Around her community, Dorothy was a member of the Prairie County Eastside Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and Cub Scout Den Leader. She found great enjoyment in the simple things in life, such as cooking, crocheting, knitting, sewing, watching her Westerns such as Gunsmoke, and her Soap Operas, Bold & the Beautiful and The Young and Restless. She also loved spending time with her loving family.

The young, beautiful Dorothy Abram would catch the eye of Mr. Henry L. Strong. The pair would unite in Holy Matrimony in 1955. To this union they would bring 8 loving souls into this world. The pair remained united as one, until Henry’s passing in 1978. Dorothy eventually remarried Mr. Willie L. Rounsville in 1984, and the loving couple combined their families, and would remain a beautiful blended family until Dorothy gained her wings.

On October 13, 2022, God sent his Angels to Chambers Nursing and Rehab Center in Carlisle, Arkansas to retrieve the soul of His beloved daughter Dorothy Jean Rounsville, as she was surrounded by her loving family. Awaiting her arrival in Heaven were her parents, her grandson Brent Dodson, sons Henry W. Strong and Donald E. Strong, brothers Thomas Cannon and John Abram, and sisters Berda M.
