Marvell Academy Football and Cheer Senior Recognition

The Marvell Academy had three seniors from Clarendon recognized for football and cheer. They were all recognized at their last home football game, on Friday, October 21st. The game was against district rival, Tunica Academy. In Marvell Academy tradition, on Senior Night, all senior football players walked on Fletch Field as Team Captains for the night. Players Ryce Bennett and Evan James were recognized, and senior cheerleader Sidney Simpson was recognized.

Ryce is the son of Shaun and Katherine Bennett of Clarendon. Ryce plays wide receiver and defensive end for the Eagles. He has been a Farm Bureau Player of the Game three times. He is also a member of the Varsity Basketball team. He is the Senior Class President and an Eagle Ambassador

Evan James is the son of Greg and Karen James of Clarendon. Evan plays left tackle and defensive end for the Eagles. He has been a Farm Bureau Player of the game this season. He is also a member of the Varsity Basketball team.

Sidney Simpson is the daughter of Ken and Keri Simpson of Clarendon. Sidney is a member of the Varsity Cheer team and the Lady Eagle Basketball team at Marvell Academy. She serves as Co-Captain of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, President of the National Honor Society, and Secretary of the Student Body and her Senior Class. Sidney is also a member of the Yearbook Staff and is an Eagle Ambassador. She was the 2022 Marvell Academy Homecoming Queen.
