Odis Lee Cohen July 27, 1945 – November 6, 2020

Odis Lee Cohen of DeValls Bluff passed away at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock at the age of 75. He was the widower of Janet Metcalf-Cohen. Odis was born in Beulah to Willie Cohen and Chester Snow Sr. He attended school in the Beulah and the Biscoe communities.

Odis was a member of Union Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in DeValls Bluff for more than 35 years. He and his wife were faithful members. They were dutiful member of the church Beautification Committee and would always help to maintain the church’s property and landscaping.

Odis worked as a farmer for many years. Throughout his life he worked for several local farm families in the surrounding communities. He also had a lawn care service for a time.

His parents; his wife, Janet; and his brother, Azell Cohen; all preceded him in death. Survivors are two brothers, Kernal Snow, of Las Vegas, NV, and Chester “Buck” Snow, of St. Louis, MO; a sister, Mary Alice Berry, of St. Louis, MO; two sisters-in-law, Willie Nell Metcalf, of DeValls Bluff, and Cora Metcalf, of Little Rock; three nieces, Stacy Cohen and Whitney Gray, both of Hazen, and Kendra Holmes, of Dallas, TX; A nephew, Shundee Metcalf, of Little Rock; extended family, Nora Jean (Sylvester) Swanigan and Dennis Neal, both of DeValls Bluff; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were November 14 at Oakland Cemetery in DeValls Bluff with Pastor Sylvester Swanigan officiating. Arrangements were by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
